Thanks for getting in touch about my dog photography. People have asked about photographing their dogs for years. This is something new that I have only just begun to offer, after a few people made enquiries during the Covid-19 Lockdown doorstep photography.
After many years working as a sports photographer, there are huge similarities between photographing dogs in action to people and other animals.
Dog photography portraits
Whilst dogs love to run, they are usually pretty well behaved just before they run off. Usually! This is a great chance to catch a quick portrait of them before they dash off for a stick or to fetch their ball.
It’s also a great chance for you to get a picture of yourself or your family with the dog!
It’s worth remembering though, dogs, like humans and many other animals, like familiar surroundings. It is worthwhile thinking about where you would like the shoot to happen.
Is your own garden space big enough for the dog to play? Would you all rather go to the local field where you take them for a walk? Simple things like this can make the session better for both you and your dog.
