We haven’t had too many sunny days this Summer, but I think it’s fair to say that Karen and Ian certainly got very lucky on May 15th! The forecast for the week had been poor to say the least, but the day before the wedding it changed and we were blessed with blue skies and sunshine.
I have known Karen for many years and we met up for a pre wedding meeting a few weeks before the date. I hadn’t realised that both Karen and Ian were architects and, having done a little research about the area beforehand, I knew there was a viaduct nearby. We took a look and between the three of us agreed that at some point on the day, we had to get down there and shoehorn a picture in because the viaduct is beautiful.
The day was wonderful. From the arrival of Ian’s grandparents, who were 50/50 as to whether they would make it or not, the ceremony taking place in the beautiful bandstand, right up to the space hopper jousting, the day went without a hitch. I left after the speeches, shortly before the meal and heavy rock music began. If you have seen me dance, you will know this to be a good thing!
