Following on from the wedding photography workshop I did at Chethams School of Music, lead by the lovely Toni Darcy, I have recently taken part in another, this time with the extremely talented Neil Redfern at Eaves Hall in Clitheroe. The most striking thing about the workshops run by Toni and Neil, aside from their talent, is their willingness and enthusiasm to actually help fellow photographers to improve. The part of the industry I have worked in has always been full of photographers protective of their talents, so to come across two people so willing to help photographers of differing abilities, is highly refreshing.
The day started at 11am in the pool table room and we shot through until lunch, before trying more new techniques in the main lobby of the hall and outside. Sadly, we had no rain, but Neil came up with his magic Snow in a Can, which provided us with a perfect plan B.
Our models were the extremely patient Beth and James.
