Amy and Endrit’s enchanting wedding at Sandhole Oak Barn

August 15, 2025

I was delighted to be asked to capture Amy and Endrit’s summer wedding at Sandhole Oak Barn, one of my favourite Cheshire wedding venues.

Amy was the football manager for the team my son George used to play for. George passed away in 2021 so there was always an emotional connection to this wedding day.

Amy and Endrit had decided to book a second photographer for their wedding, meaning they were able to have images from groom prep as well as bridal prep. Stacey, my second, began the day at the couples home before joining Endrit and his groomsmen in the cosy Shepherd’s Hut, capturing the relaxed camaraderie, finishing touches, and of course a celebratory drink before the big moment!

Whilst Stacey was covering all the fun with the lads, I was with all the girls in the Dressing Room to capture some photos of Amy and her bridal party getting ready. The nerves began to creep in to Amy as she got closer to the time of the wedding and getting into her dress. There was also the lovely moment when Amy revealed her dress to her dad, her brother and then her bridesmaids.

The ceremony at Sandhole Oak Barn

Sandhole Oak Barn offers both indoor and outdoor licensed ceremony spaces. Couples can choose from the Ceremony Barn or the magical outdoor Clock Tower by the lake. Amy and Endrit exchanged vows in the Ceremony Barn, where the oak beams, high ceilings, and floor-to-ceiling windows allowed natural light to flood in and offer stunning views across the lake. The barn’s rustic charm and neutral décor provided an elegant yet understated backdrop for some stunning wedding photography.

Portraits, group shots, and romantic moments

After the ceremony, we took the opportunity to capture some fun group photographs and candid guest portraits. The lakeside verandah and gardens, with manicured lawns and soft lighting, provided the perfect setting for more relaxed, natural images. I then whisked the happy couple outside for some romantic portraits by the lake. Wedding photography is always especially magical at sunset, and we captured some amazing portraits of Amy and Endrit in the golden hour light.

While Amy and Endrit shared a moment together, their guests enjoyed garden games by the lakeside, which gave me a great opportunity to capture some candid shots that truly captured the spirit of the day.

The evening reception

Then it was time for the cake cutting- a great transition into the evening reception.

The Dining Barn, with its warm oak interiors, wrought-iron chandeliers, and dancing lights, was the perfect place for guests to let loose.

Sandhole Oak Barn is always a wedding photographer’s dream, with its thoughtful layout, exclusive use, gorgeous natural light, and stunning lakeside backdrop. It certainly created a seamless, beautiful canvas for Amy and Endrit’s unforgettable wedding day.
