Relaxed, documentary wedding photography for couples getting married across Cheshire

Wedding Photographer in Cheshire
Your wedding day is full of moments you’ll want to remember: the nerves before the ceremony, the hug from a grandparent, the laughter during the speeches, the look you give each other when you finally get a moment alone, and the madness that happens on the dance floor.
As a Cheshire wedding photographer, my job is to capture all of it.
I specialise in relaxed, documentary-style wedding photography, working unobtrusively throughout the day so you can concentrate on enjoying it. Rather than spending hours posing for photographs, I’ll blend into the background, capturing the genuine moments, emotions and interactions that make your wedding yours.
I’ve been a full-time professional photographer for more than 20 years, with a background in editorial and press photography. That experience has shaped the way I photograph weddings: looking for moments as they happen, anticipating what’s coming next and capturing the things you might not even notice on the day.
“Communication was second to none. The amount of time, dedication and genuine care during a stressful time was immensely appreciated.“ – Katrina & Dan
Wedding photography across Cheshire
Cheshire is a fantastic place to get married. From the countryside around Knutsford and Macclesfield to historic Chester and the villages and towns dotted throughout the county, there is an incredible variety of wedding venues and settings.
I’ve photographed weddings at country estates, rustic barns, hotels, castles and more intimate venues across Cheshire, including Delamere Manor, Peckforton Castle, Heaton House Farm, The Mere Resort, The Oak Tree of Peover and Nunsmere Hall.
If you’re still deciding on your venue, my experience of photographing weddings across the county means I can also offer practical advice about timings, photographs and making the most of your surroundings. I want you to spend your wedding day with your friends and family rather than feeling as though you’re constantly being directed by your photographer. There will always be some photographs that need a little organisation – family groups, for example – but much of the day is about letting things happen naturally.
I was delighted to be announced Winner of the North West Wedding Awards ‘Business of the Year, 2019’. In October 2021 I was nominated as a Regional Finalist in The Wedding Industry Awards as both Photographer of the Year and Newcomer of the year.
A documentary approach to your wedding day
Not everyone loves having their photograph taken. In fact, most people probably don’t. That’s why my approach is deliberately relaxed.
I’ll be looking for the moments between the moments: the reactions, conversations, laughter, tears and little details that tell the story of your day.
My full-day wedding photography currently starts around three hours before your ceremony and continues until shortly after your first dance, with 350+ edited images included. Full-day bookings also include a pre-wedding shoot.

Cheshire wedding venues
One of the things I love most about being a Cheshire wedding photographer is the variety of venues.
Fancy a rustic countryside celebration? Cheshire has some fantastic barn wedding venues, with exposed beams, fields, gardens and plenty of space for relaxed photographs. Prefer something a little more grand? The county is packed with manor houses, country estates, castles and historic buildings, giving you a completely different backdrop for your wedding photographs. And then there are the hotels and more contemporary venues, which can work beautifully for couples looking for something stylish and relaxed. I’ve built up a collection of individual venue guides and wedding stories over the years, so if you’re getting married at a Cheshire venue, it’s worth taking a look.

Recent Cheshire Weddings
The best way to understand how I photograph weddings is to see the real thing.
I’ve photographed everything from intimate celebrations to large country house weddings, always approaching the day with the same aim: to tell the story honestly and naturally.

Cheshire, Stockport, Manchester and beyond
Although Cheshire is my main focus, I also regularly photograph weddings in Stockport, Manchester, and across the wider North West.
Being based in Stockport makes Cheshire particularly accessible, while my experience working throughout the region means I’m equally comfortable photographing a city celebration, a country house wedding or a countryside barn.
So if you’re getting married in Cheshire, Chester, Stockport, Manchester or further afield, I’d love to hear what you’re planning.
Lets talk about your wedding
Choosing your wedding photographer is about more than finding someone whose photographs you like. You’ll spend a lot of time with them on the day, so feeling comfortable around them matters too.
That’s why I always recommend having a chat before booking. We can talk about your plans, your venue, the sort of photographs you like and how you’d like your day to feel.
If you’re looking for a Cheshire wedding photographer who will capture your wedding naturally, unobtrusively and with plenty of experience behind the camera, I’d love to hear from you.
