Zak & Beatrice’s Gawsworth Hall wedding and tipi reception in Cheshire

May 5, 2026

Zak and Beatrice’s wedding day in Cheshire was one of those that felt effortlessly personal from start to finish- full of warmth, meaning, and a real sense of home.

A morning of love, laughter, (and wedding photography!)

The morning began at Beatrice’s family home, where I joined her and the bridal party as they got ready. There’s always something special about photographing preparations in a place that already holds so many memories, and this was no exception. The atmosphere was relaxed but full of excitement, and I was able to capture those quieter, in-between moments as everything came together. As the morning unfolded, I also spent some time photographing the reception setup in the garden. A beautiful tipi had been arranged for later in the day, with thoughtful details throughout- one of those setups that feels both stylish and completely personal. Before we left for the ceremony at Gawsworth Hall, there was a particularly lovely moment as Beatrice’s dad saw her in her dress for the first time. It’s always an honour to capture those reactions, they never get old.

We then made our way to Gawsworth Hall for the ceremony. It’s a fantastic venue for wedding photography in Cheshire, steeped in history, full of character, and surrounded by beautiful grounds. The timbered architecture and rich interiors create a really atmospheric backdrop, while outside you’ve got open space, greenery, and plenty of natural light to work with. As a wedding photographer, this venue offers a great balance, whether you’re capturing the ceremony itself or those more relaxed moments afterwards.Following the ceremony, everyone gathered outside for celebratory drinks in the grounds. It was a lovely, unhurried part of the day with the guests enjoying soaking it all in. From there, we moved into group photos, and I spent some time with Zak and Beatrice for their portraits, keeping things natural and relaxed, and making the most of the surroundings.

A tipi reception at home

The day then returned to where it started- back home for the reception. The garden had completely transformed, with the tipi now full of life, laughter, and anticipation for the evening ahead. Guests enjoyed garden games, drinks, and time by the lake, which also made for some beautiful opportunities for wedding photography.

As the speeches began there was plenty of laughter, plus a few emotional moments. Then, as the light started to fade, the festoon lighting and fairy lights brought the whole space to life for the evening of partying ahead. It created such a brilliant setting for the evening celebrations, with everyone gathered under the tipi for dancing and a proper end to a fantastic day.
