Cock O’Barton wedding Photographer – Katrina & Mike

January 18, 2021

This was my first time as a Cock O’Barton wedding photographer, for Katrina and Mike’s Covid restricted Wedding in December 2020. With wedding restrictions still in place at the end of 2020, the small, private dining at this Cheshire wedding venue in Malpas, provided the ideal space to hold a smaller wedding for Katrina & Mike. I arrived around 10am and Katrina and her bridal party were already getting ready. They were using the venues onsite rooms for their bridal prep whilst Mike got ready at home. It wasn’t long before all the ladies had forgotten I was there and I was able to start capturing images in my natural photographic style. As a Cheshire Wedding Photographer it is always great to work at new wedding venues as it allows you to see things for the first time and you discover new creative spaces.

The day that Katrina & Mike got married was the first time I had ever met them or their families. This is very unusual for me. They had actually booked my friend Stacey Oliver who is a wedding photographer based in North Wales. Sadly, just a couple of days before the wedding, Stacey was told she would have to self isolate due to a member of her family contracting the virus. We spoke almost as soon as she found out and to say she was upset would be an understatement. Times like this are where it is important that your wedding photographer has a network of people to call. Should your photographer be ill and be unable to cover your day, what back up plans do they have? It’s worth asking your photographer when you are looking to choose one. Thankfully, Stacey called me and I was able to help out and it was my pleasure to do so.

Full day rain didn’t stop the fun!

Despite the rain falling for 95% of their wedding, Katrina and Mike were brilliant to work for. They trusted my creative photography ideas and braved the showers when we had to. If it rains on your wedding day would you be brave enough to still go outside for pictures?
