Your wedding day is the biggest day of your life and probably the most expensive. This can leave Brides and Grooms looking for ways to keep costs down and unfortunately wedding albums are a common compromise.
In a time when almost everything has gone digital it is easy for couples to allow photography to follow suit. As a passionate wedding photographer I have to admit that this is a heart-breaking trend for the industry.
You’re probably wondering why, when times have moved on and you can access all of your beautiful Wedding photographs with ease on your phone, laptop or iPad. So let me explain why you won’t regret buying a Wedding album, but you may well regret not buying one.

They bring your photographs to life
Viewing photographs in print is a totally different experience to seeing them on a screen. Print breathes a breath of life into your photos, allowing you to hold them in your hands and almost feel the emotions all over again. With print images you don’t need to be concerned about if the settings of your screen are optimal for the images as your photographer will print them with the perfect brightness, contrast, saturation and so on. Looking at your photos in print will be the closest to ‘the real thing’ as you can get.

They create special moments
Every couple is eager to receive the photos of their magical day and even more eager to show them to their loved ones. This in itself is a precious experience and is made all the more special when done in person, sat together, with a lovely cup of tea (or glass of Prosecco) of course. Not only will looking through your wedding album together be a lovely experience shortly after the wedding but also one which you can share years and years down the line with children as they reach an age of understanding.

They can’t be outdated or deleted
Whilst the continuous developments in technology provide us with so many valuable tools, they can also leave us falling behind in some ways. The digital format that you choose to buy your images can become inaccessible and result in it being difficult to look through your wedding photographs. I know I’m glad I didn’t opt for my wedding photos to be presented on a floppy disk! Whilst it is great to have digital copies of your photographs it is also wise to invest in an album which will never become obsolete as technology continues to push on or God forbid somehow get deleted.

They make the perfect gift
If for budget reasons you do decide against purchasing a wedding album don’t forget that you can always get back in touch with your photographer at a later, more convenient date to order one. The traditional 1st year wedding anniversary gift is paper, making a wedding album the perfect fit! This is a great idea for the Groom, when struggling with what to buy, or it can be your gift to one another. Many albums are cheaper when booked before your wedding so it’s always worth checking with your photographer.

They are simply beautiful
I’d like to round up this blog post by pointing out that wedding albums are made from premium paper, fabrics and binding with the highest quality ink and printing methods. So not only are they something absolutely beautiful to cherish, they are also built to last. When the memories become a little hazy and your wonderful wedding day feels a million years ago, you will still have this beautiful book to look at and pass down the generations.
